300,000 mt capacity iron ore terminal to be built in Meizhou Bay, China

A 300,000 mt capacity iron ore terminal planned to be built by Fujian Luoyu Port Development Co. at Meizhou Bay in the city of Putian in China's Fujian Province has been approved by China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

The planned terminal will have 100,000 mt bulk iron ore cargo berths, as well as supporting facilities. The designed annual capacity of the terminal is 10 million mt. Total investment in the project is expected to be RMB 1.44 billion ($221 million), and the terminal will be put into operation in 2013.
