SteelOrbis has learned that spot market prices for US domestic HSS tubing continue to trend at approximately $44.50 cwt. ($981/mt or $890/nt), ex-works, although deals below this level are quietly available, due to unexciting demand levels.

November scrap prices are expected to settle up from October prices by the end of the current buy cycle. Once scrap settles, it’s widely held that US flats mills, and subsequentially, US tube mills, will announce a second round of prices increases as soon as next week.
