US domestic hollow structural sections (HSS) tubing prices have remained steady week-over-week, although some sources close to SteelOrbis question whether higher prices are on the horizon. “If [hot rolled] coil prices keep going up, I don’t see how tubing prices wouldn’t follow,” a source said.

As far as pricing, the average HSS price range is still trending at $88-$89 cwt. ($1,940-$1,962/mt or $1,760-$1,780/nt), FOB mill, reflecting no change in the past week. Spot market prices are still at least double where they were during the same reporting period in 2020.
