Turkish welded pipe producers’ domestic offers remain stable

Over the past week, Turkish welded pipe producers’ domestic offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from HRC of S235 grade as per EN 10219 has remained stable at $550-580/mt ex-works. However, market sources say that the upper limit of offers has failed to gain acceptance this week and that pipe producers are also active in the export markets due to the weakness of domestic demand.

According to market sources, price levels in the local Turkish welded pipe market may change next week. A source from a Turkish pipe mill has commented, “Nowadays many pipe offers in the market are heard, with some being aggressive due to the weakness of demand. The market is still on holiday this week. We expect demand to accelerate next week with market players returning.” Another market source told SteelOrbis, “We are trying to liquidate our stocks due to the negative sentiment in the market.”
