Turkish welded pipe prices weaken further amid low demand

Turkey’s domestic and export welded pipe prices have continued to soften due to generally slow demand.

As a result, offers for the overseas markets have decreased by $10/mt over the past week to $490-510/mt FOB, with bids from buyers reported at $10/mt lower levels. The product is on offer for October shipments. Domestic offers have declined by $5-10/mt over the past week to $485-500/mt ex-works, while business activity remains weak.

Some market players are optimistic regarding the general trend as import scrap prices have stopped falling for now in Turkey, providing some positive sentiment for feedstock prices as well. However, the low demand for Turkish pipe products will mostly likely continue to weigh on the pricing, SteelOrbis understands.

**Prices are given for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from HRC of S235 grade as per EN 10219, on theoretical weight basis.
