Since Turkey’s target markets for welded pipe exports are in Christmas holiday, Turkish welded pipe exporters are experiencing a very quiet week. Additionally, Turkish mills are busy with annual closings, and so no new welded piper export offer from turkey has been heard. Last week, Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their export markets were at $590-605/mt FOB.

On the other hand, Turkey’s welded pipe and hollow section exports to the European Union have slowed down since the import quota imposed by the European Commission (EC) is almost filled. It is believed that Turkish welded pipe and hollow section exports may be negatively influenced by the final determination of the EC’s ongoing safeguard investigation if EC announces a country-based quota system.
