Since Turkish lira has continued to depreciate sharply against the US dollar over the past week, reaching record levels above 6 mark as of today (August 10), some buyers in the local Turkish welded pipe market has got into panic and made some purchases while Turkish lira continues its rapid ups and downs. However, demand for domestic welded pipe in Turkey is still generally weak. Meanwhile, Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their domestic market have remained stable week on week at $660-700/mt ex-works.
