Having decreased by €20/meter during the previous week, prices in the local European welded pipe market have remained stable over the past week. However, due to the softening of hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the region, European welded pipe producers are likely to decrease their prices in the coming weeks. For now, a Bulgarian steel producer’s offers to Europe for ERW pipes as per EN 10219 are now at €605-635/meter ($696-730/meter) CPT. The Bulgarian welded pipe producer’s quotations to Hungary and Poland are at €610-615/meter ($702-707/meter) CPT, with other offers to the Czech Republic and Austria being at €620-625/meter ($713-719/meter) CPT, while its offers to Germany and Romania are at €630-635/meter ($725-730/meter) CPT and €605-610/meter ($696-702/meter) CPT respectively.
The half of 200 day period of European Commission’s implementation of quotas for welded pipe imports has been almost reached, in which 41.5 percent of quota for welded pipe imports and 50.7 percent of quota for hollow section imports has been exhausted. Although European buyers recently prefer imported welded pipe due to their price advantage, they are expected to meet their needs from domestic market and decrease their import bookings in the coming period, considering the ongoing antidumping investigations.
