Over the past week, a Bulgarian steel producer’s offers for ERW pipes as per EN 10219 have remained stable at €610-650/metre ($695-741/metre) CPT; with offers to Hungary and Poland being at €620-630/metre ($707-720/metre) CPT, with other offers to the Czech Republic and Austria being at €630-640/metre ($720-730/metre) CPT, while its offers to Germany and Romania are at €640-650/metre ($730-741/metre) CPT and €610-620/metre ($695-707/metre) CPT respectively.
While local producers continue to receive orders for September shipments, European buyers also continue to conclude import deals and they have imported 12,800 mt of welded pipe since the European Commission (EC) announced its provisional measures in the form of a out-of-quota tariff, to be applied beginning on July 19. Since steel producers start maintenance works and due to the summer holidays, market players are not much active and purchases are made for low tonnages in this period of the year. However, European buyers are expected to accelerate their import bookings and local mills are likely to increase their production as of September.
