The local Chinese steel pipe prices have followed an upward trend during the past week.
Chinese seamless pipe prices mostly increased during the past seven days on the back of higher billet prices. Overall trading activity is weak due to the off-season, with the weak demand causing some traders in certain parts of the country to keep their prices stable. As for the week ahead, considering the support from the cost side and the weakness of demand, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may fluctuate at the current high price levels.
Chinese welded pipe prices have indicated an upward trend during the past week, supported by higher prices of steel strip and raw materials. Trading activity has been weak due to the off-season. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may fluctuate on a slight uptrend.
