Local Chinese steel pipe prices have mostly softened during the past week.
Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have continued to move down during the past seven days, but at a slower rate. Overall trading activity has slack amid the hot and rainy weather. Billet prices have shown some rebound, providing support for seamless pipe prices, but most traders have chosen to reduce their quoted prices in order to close more deals given the weakness of demand. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may move down slowly.
Local Chinese welded pipe prices have either moved sideways or down slightly during the past week. Upstream steel strip prices have increased but most traders have decided to keep their prices stable in order to close more deals given the current weak demand. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may indicate minor fluctuations.
