Local Chinese steel pipe prices have followed an overall downtrend trend during the past week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have declined in the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak due to the off-season and large price fluctuations. The demand side has kept a wait-and-see stance and has been trying to maintain their inventories at a low level. Supply volumes are also still low due to production restrictions. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may soften further.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have indicated a downward trend during the past week. Upstream steel strip prices have decreased recently, leading welded pipe prices to follow suit. Trading activity has been weak due to the hot and rainy weather. Traders are mostly cautious and have been reluctant to increase their stock levels. As for the week ahead, it is believed that domestic welded pipe prices may continue to move down, with some fluctuations possible.
