The local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued to soften by small margins in the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued to move down slightly during the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been weak due to rainy weather in certain areas. Recovery of production volumes have caused inventory to increase slightly and producers have mainly cut their quoted prices by small margins. Traders are still not willing to increase their stock levels, but are waiting for lower prices instead. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may soften again.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have moved down a little during the past week amid weak demand and some increases in supply. Upstream steel strip prices have rebounding a little, providing some support for welded pipe prices. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may indicate minor fluctuations.
