The local Chinese steel pipe prices have followed a declining trend during the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have followed a downward trend during the past week. Overall trading activity has been at a weak level. Upstream billet prices and other steel product prices have mostly softened, causing seamless pipe prices to follow suit. Meanwhile, since the offseason has begun, especially in northern China, demand is weak again. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may decline by minor margins.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have decreased during the past week. Upstream steel strip and other raw material prices have declined, and so welded pipe prices have mostly followed the general downward trend. Overall trading activity is again sluggish as the peak season is over, while coronavirus measures have impacted transportation and demand. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may again move down.
