The local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued their decreasing trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have decreased during the past seven days, amid declining upstream prices. Overall trading activity has been weak due to the off-season and bad weather. Market inventory levels have risen slightly, exerting some downward pressure on seamless pipe prices. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may move down by a small margin.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have continued their downtrend during the past week, against the backdrop of declines in prices of steel strip and raw materials. Overall trading activity has improved a little but is still weak due to public health measures amid Covid-19 outbreaks. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may continue to soften by small margins as demand still remains weak.
