Local Chinese steel pipe prices have either moved sideways or downward during the past week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have continued their stable trend in the past seven days. Most downstream buyers and traders are still not back at work yet and so trading activity has continued at very low levels. Disruption of transportation also puts pressure on market inventory levels and prices. As for the week ahead, it is believed that local seamless pipe prices may follow a soft trend.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have mostly followed a downward trend during the past week. Trading activity has been weak, with demand still needing time to return to normal levels. Some traders are under pressure to reduce prices in order to attract more deals as their liquidity is tight. As for the week ahead, it is believed that domestic welded pipe prices may continue their soft trend again.
