Local Chinese pipe prices follow a downward trend

The local Chinese steel pipe prices have followed a downtrend during the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have declined during the past seven days. Overall trading activity is still weak due to the off-season and hot summer weather. Increasing supply volumes have also exerted pressure on seamless pipe prices. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices will continue their soft trend.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have decreased during the past week amid lower steel strip prices and weak demand amid adverse weather conditions. Most traders have chosen to reduce their quoted prices in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, considering demand will likely remain weak, it is believed that welded pipe prices will indicate minor decreases.
