Over the past week, Turkish welded pipe producers’ offers to export markets have remained unchanged despite the declines in scrap prices. Accordingly, Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from HRC of S235 grade as per EN 10219 have remained stable at $580-600/mt FOB.

According to market sources, Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) producers are likely to decrease their prices due to the downward movement of scrap prices and this situation may impact Turkish welded pipe quotations in the coming period. Meanwhile, demand for ex-Turkey welded pipe in Europe has decreased significantly and is at weak levels since buyers are asking for lower prices. As for the US market, demand for Turkish welded pipe is also slack, while demand in the Middle East is somewhat better and Turkish mills’ current price levels seem to have gained acceptance.
