As the downtrend of domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in Turkey continues, prices are currently at $560-570/mt ex-works, while buyers are still exerting pressure on them. Meanwhile, buyers are expecting domestic welded pipe prices to fall in accordance with the decreases seen in HRC quotations.

SteelOrbis has been informed that welded pipe purchases in Turkey have been made only in line with needs over the past week. It is observed that the trading activity in the local Turkish welded pipe market is at low levels due to the expectations of an apprehension in Turkish lira against the US dollar.

During the past week, Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their domestic market has fallen by $20/mt on the lower end week on week to $610-660/mt ex-works.
