The Italian welded pipe market has continued to struggle amid depressed sentiment. Domestic and export welded pipe prices in Italy have declined by around €20-25/mt ($23-28/mt) over the past month under pressure from decreasing raw material prices and limited buying activity. Italian pipe producers hope to keep their prices stable in the coming period, while both local and foreign buyers continue to insist on further price reductions as there are no positive developments in the market.
Current local prices for Italian welded pipes of 2"-6" size with wall thickness of 2.0-4.0 mm as per EN 10219 made of base steel grade S235JR HR coils are at about €470-490/mt ($535-558/mt) ex-works. Prices are shown on actual weight basis and excluding 22 percent VAT. Domestic prices for standard-size precision welded tubes E235 grade as per EN 10305-3 are at about €570-580/mt ($649-660/mt) ex-works.
Export quotations of Italian 2"-6" welded pipes as per EN 10219 are at about €500-520/mt ($569-592/mt) FOB or €480-490/mt ($546-558/mt) ex-works.
