During the week ending August 11, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have remained stable. At present, export offers for welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $845-875/mt FOB, remaining stable week on week, while export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $855-875/mt FOB, October shipment, moving sideways compared to that recorded on August 4.

During the given week, steel pipe prices have moved sideways amid support from production restrictions. Downstream users concluded purchases as needed and have mostly been maintaining a wait-and-see stance. It is thought that steel pipe prices in the Chinese domestic market may remain stable in the coming week.
Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 5,597/mt ($863/mt) on August 11, up RMB 113/mt ($17.4/mt) or 2.1 percent from August 4.
