Buyers in local Turkish welded pipe market purchase only in line with needs

It is observed that the Turkish lira has gained strength against the US dollar after the completion of the elections on June 24, causing buyers in the local Turkish welded pipe market to conclude purchases only in line with their needs despite their low inventory levels as they want to see how long the appreciation of the Turkish lira will continue. As a result, demand in the local Turkish welded pipe market has been weak.

Accordingly, domestic welded pipe prices in Turkey have remained unchanged week on week despite the rises recorded in hot rolled coil quotations. In the current week, Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their domestic market has moved sideways at $640-680/mt ex-works.
