Having been away from the market last week due to the Feast of Sacrifice holiday, Turkish welded pipe exporters have started to return to the market but it is observed that the anticipated revival in sales has failed to materialize as some players are still out of the market. Turkish welded pipe export sales are observed to be continuing for small tonnages, though demand is reportedly at insufficient levels. Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their export markets has declined by $10/mt on the lower end week on week to $640-670/mt FOB.
There is a new expectation in the export markets for a downward revision in Turkish welded pipe prices due to the declines recorded in the local Turkish welded pipe market, with prices falling to $600-610/mt ex-works after the holiday. As a result, buyers in the export markets are in no rush to conclude new deals, while they are expected to wait for a fall in Turkish welded pipe quotations. Turkish welded pipe exports to the European Union (EU) may increase at the beginning of September, though any possible improvement in demand is not foreseen to provide any positive support for prices.
