US Northeast scrap prices settle down as expected

Scrap prices in the Northeast have settled down during this month’s buy cycle. The downtrend in February prices is consistent with what’s been seen in other parts of the country. “I think the mills took things up a bit to high in December, so this was expected,” a source said, adding that East coast dock prices have also come down. “On the other hand, scrap prices are still pretty good, and it doesn’t seem that scrap flow has been affected.”
