According to sources close to SteelOrbis, at the end of the week ending January 25 Turkish mills returned to the scrap mart, closing a flurry of import scrap deals.
The deals include an ex-Europe cargo for a total of 30,000 mt consisting HMS I/II 75:25 scrap at $291/mt CFR and another ex-Europe scrap deal for 25,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap, 7,500 mt of P&S scrap, 7,500 mt of shredded scrap at an average price of $295.50/mt CFR.
Sources also inform SteelOrbis that the same Turkish mill concluded another two separate deals. The first was from the European region for 40,000 mt of scrap, comprised of 20,000 mt of shredded scrap, 6,000 mt of P&S scrap, 4,000 mt of busheling scrap, and 10,000 mt of HMS I/II 75:25 scrap at an average price of $304.50/mt CFR. The second scrap deal was also from the European region, concluded for HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $297/mt, shredded scrap at $302.50/mt, and bonus grade scrap at $307.50/mt, all on CFR basis.
A final ex-Baltic scrap deal was concluded for HMS I/II 80:20 at $304/mt CFR.
