As compared to the levels recorded on Thursday, December 17, Turkish mills have increased their domestic scrap purchase prices within the range of TRY 50-1,050/mt or $11-141/mt. The upper end of the rise was announced by Isdemir, which stayed out of the recent price revisions following its last increase made on November 28. The other mills’ dollar based quotations have increased by $5-6/mt in this period amid the ongoing appreciation of the lira against the dollar.

Accordingly, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has moved up to TRY 3,120-3,675/mt, while the dollar-based quotations have increased from the range of $329-471/mt to $407-479/mt.
