Turkish mills’ domestic scrap purchase prices edge down again

Monday, 23 September 2019 16:24:16 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Turkish steel producers have again revised their domestic scrap purchase prices downwards amid the generally negative market mood. On Turkish lira basis, prices have decreased by TRY 30-60/mt depending on the scrap grade and the buyer, since last Friday. In reality, the prices have lost $6-11/mt. The situation in the import scrap segment remains unclear for now, with some market players expecting a rebound, while steel producers continue to put pressure on suppliers.
