Turkish mills cut domestic scrap purchase prices

Since SteelOrbis’ report published on Monday, July 22, Turkish mills have cut their local scrap procurement prices by TRY 250-700/mt or $18-44/mt. Only one mill has decided to keep its prices stable, with a $4/mt a fall in its dollar-based quotations. Sentiment in Turkey’s raw material and steel markets remains negative, exerting pressure on domestic scrap prices also. As a result, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has decreased from TRY 6,100-8,100/mt ($344-457/mt) to TRY 5,750-7,400/mt ($321-413/mt).
