Turkish mills adjust domestic scrap purchase prices

Wednesday, 04 September 2019 15:28:08 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Turkish steel producers have mostly adjusted their domestic scrap purchase prices based on the market situation and their current production and sales positions, SteelOrbis understands. Some of the mills have chosen to significantly reduce prices on Turkish lira basis, which has led to a considerable decline in the US dollar equivalents. Others have decided to apply less sizeable adjustments that have resulted in only small price corrections on dollar basis. In the meantime, some producers have left their purchase prices unchanged, though they are expected to adjust them shortly.
