Turkey’s ship scrap market decreases on lower end

Since SteelOrbis report published on September 2, Turkey’s ship scrap market has decreased on the lower end by $10/mt, with the price range settling at $360-370/mt for delivery to mill by truck. The pessimistic outlook in the Turkish steel market is exerting pressure on ship scrap prices. IDC has cut its production citing low steel demand and high production costs which are considered to be unsustainable.
