Tokyo Steel reduces scrap purchases prices yet again in November

On November 12, SteelOrbis reported Tokyo Steel decreased the purchase price of H2 scrap for the fourth time since late October. The three sites declined prices to JPY 34,000/mt ($299/mt) at the Okayama plant, JPY 33,500/mt ($294/mt) at the Tahara plant, and JPY 34,500/mt ($303/mt) at the Utsunomiya site, all prices delivered to the customer.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that Tokyo Steel has adjusted prices downward yet again by JPY 500/mt and they are now reportedly at JPY 33,500/mt ($297/mt) at the Okayama plant, JPY 33,000/mt ($293/mt) at the Tahara plant, and JPY 34,000/mt ($302/mt) at the Utsunomiya site, all prices delivered to the customer. Due to currency fluctuations, the Okayama plant decreased $2/mt while the Tahara and Utsunomiya plants decreased $1/mt.
