Tokyo Steel reduces scrap buying prices again in early December

On November 28, SteelOrbis reported Tokyo Steel decreasing H2 scrap purchase prices in the Tahara and Okayama plants to JPY 32,000/mt ($281/mt), all prices delivered to customer. The Utsunomiya plant, which is near Tokyo, retained domestic scrap buying prices stable at JPY 33,500/mt ($295/mt).

SteelOrbis has been informed that Tokyo Steel has again decreased scrap buying prices in early December. Prices are now reportedly at JPY 30,500/mt ($270/mt) at the Tahara site, JPY 29,500/mt ($261/mt) at the Okayama site, and JPY 31,500/mt ($279/mt) at the Utsunomiya plant, all prices delivered to customer. The Tahara plant reportedly decreased its buying prices by $11/mt while the Okayama site decreased by $20/mt. The Utsunomiya plant decreased prices by $16/mt.
