Stable trend in local Italian scrap market

Domestic scrap prices have remained stable in Italy in the past week. As the end of the month is approaching, it is increasingly believed that domestic scrap prices will rise moderately in March, reaching the levels seen in January, on the back of strong scrap demand and the uptrend of import scrap prices in Turkey. Also, transportation difficulties constitute another factor that could support price increases, as logistics were already under pressure from strong demand and now are under additional pressure from the cold weather that has hit Europe.
