Some Turkish mills revise domestic scrap purchase prices

Monday, 06 April 2020 18:07:57 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

It is observed that a few Turkish mills have decided to raise their domestic scrap purchase prices over the weekend and today, April 6, increasing their prices by TRY 15-80/mt, depending on the grade. The upper end of the change is reflected as a $10/mt increase in the producers’ dollar-based quotations, while the changes on the lower end have resulted in sideways movement of dollar-based prices.

Other Turkish mills have kept their prices stable as compared to SteelOrbis’ report published on April 3. For mills that decided to keep their Turkish lira-based prices stable, their dollar-based quotations have decreased by $2-3/mt due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar.
