It is observed that today, April 9, some Turkish mills have raised their domestic scrap purchase prices by TRY 50-130/mt or $8-20/mt, depending on the grade. Market players state that the shortage of scrap both in the domestic and in the import market has supported the price uptrend observed this week, while increasing import scrap quotations have also had an impact on the domestic market.
For other mills that have kept their Turkish lira-based prices stable today, their dollar-based quotations have increased by $1/mt.
