Some Turkish mills further increase their local scrap purchase prices

Friday, 13 December 2019 14:26:51 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Today, December 13, some key Turkish mills have increased their domestic scrap purchasing prices again, by TRY 15-230/mt or $3-40/mt, depending on their scrap needs and on the raw material grade. It is observed that today’s changes have been made by mills following the hike by key mills yesterday. Market sources say that Turkish mills’ demand for local scrap is still high. In addition, today some mills that had not changed their domestic scrap purchase prices for a long time have revised their prices upwards, contributing to the sharp increases of up to $40/mt, SteelOrbis understands.
