Some revisions in Turkish domestic scrap market

Wednesday, 20 May 2020 16:43:27 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Some Turkish mills have reduced their domestic scrap purchase prices today, May 20. The TRY 20-60/mt decrease has resulted in a sideways movement in dollar-based quotations for some grades, while it has caused a $1-6/mt fall for others.

Since the Turkish lira has gained strength against the US dollar, the stable Turkish lira-based prices of other mills have resulted in a $2-3/mt rise in those steelmakers’ quotations on dollar basis.
