Some Izmir-based Turkish mills further reduce ship scrap purchase prices

After yesterday’s revisions, two out of four Turkish mills based in the Izmir region have again decreased their purchase prices for ship scrap, this time by $3/mt. Currently, the purchase price levels in the region are at $282-287/mt CPT depending on the mill, SteelOrbis has learned. The key reason for the price reduction is the negative sentiment in the import scrap market, sources report.

In Turkey's Aliaga region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Producer

Price ($/mt)

Weekly change ($/mt)

Habaş

287

-3

Ege Çelik

282

İDÇ

285

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
