Ship scrap prices see sharp increase in Turkey’s Izmir region

Domestic ship scrap purchase prices have sharply increased in Turkey’s Izmir region resulting from the needs of Turkish mills to conclude purchases as well as from higher import scrap prices. Turkish mills in the region have increased their ship scrap purchase prices by $7-15/mt depending on their needs. As a result, ship scrap prices in the region are now at $287-290/mt CPT, with only Cebitas keeping its indicative level for ship scrap at $260/mt CPT because it is not interested in purchases and has stopped buying.

In Turkey's Aliaga region the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
