Turkish mills based in the Izmir region have decreased their local ship scrap purchase prices over the past week as sentiment in the import segment remains weak. Currently, their domestic purchase prices are set at $282-290/mt CPT, down $2-8/mt over the past week. Some additional downward price revisions are possible as expectations in the import market are still negative, SteelOrbis understands.

In Turkey's Aliaga region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Producer

Price ($/mt)

Weekly change ($/mt)

Habaş

290

-6

Ege Çelik

282

-8

İDÇ

288

-2

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
