Exporters’ scrap purchase prices at St. Petersburg port in Russia have marked another increase this week, supported by the positive sales levels to Turkey and the limited availability of cargoes from the Baltic region. Buyers are now ready to pay $300/mt (RUB 21,900/mt) CPT for A3 scrap, up by $9/mt (RUB 300/mt) since earlier this week, SteelOrbis has learned.

Players say that a certain rush to restock has kept pushing the workable price levels for scrap upwards, while the collection levels remain high despite the seasonal restrictions.

$1 = RUB 74.17
