Scrap import offers to Bangladesh trend down further

On November 29, SteelOrbis reported scrap offers from the EU and UK to Bangladesh trending down.  Ex-EU and ex-UK containerized shredded scrap was reportedly at $355-365/mt CFR, with most offers toward the bottom of the range, and containerized HMS I/II 80:20 scrap was on offer at $340-345/mt CFR.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that ex-EU and ex-UK containerized shredded scrap have since moved further downward on global effects, and prices are now reportedly at $350-355/mt CFR. Containerized HMS I/II 80:20 scrap is now reportedly on offer at $325-335/mt CFR.

Shredded prices declined $5/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $10/mt from the top of the same range, while HMS I/II 80:20 prices declined $15/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $10/mt from the top of the same range. The larger decline for HMS I/II 80:20 is attributed to the lower import volume inquires at the moment by Turkish mills.
