Prices in local Turkish scrap market revised upwards

Tuesday, 30 March 2021 15:22:34 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Today, March 30, prices in the local Turkish scrap market have been revised upwards. This move is the result of the depreciation the the Turkish lira and also due to the changing mood in the deep sea scrap segment. Most mills have increased their domestic scrap purchase quotations by TRY 60-305/mt or $1-31/mt, while others have kept their prices stable, resulting in a $5-7/mt decrease in their dollar prices.

Accordingly, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has increased from TRY 2,925-3,470/mt to TRY 2,950-3,470/mt, while the dollar-based quotations have moved from the range of $357-424/mt to $355-417/mt.
