Northern Brazil pig iron offers to US stable, may increase

According to market sources, Northern Brazil basic steelmaking pig iron offers to the US are presently at $365-370/mt FOB for February and March product. The offer prices translate to an estimated $380-385/mt CFR US port. A source stated that given the strong economic and steel outlook in the US for first quarter 2018, pig iron offers could rise to $395-400/mt CFR US port from the Northern Brazil region.
