Turkish mills have continued to book ex-Baltic region steel scrap cargoes with more deals disclosed to the market at the end of last week. An Iskenderun region-based steel producer has bought a scrap lot from St. Petersburg, consisting of 25,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 at $298/mt CFR and 5,000 mt bonus grade at $308/mt CFR, for shipment in the first half of February.

In addition, another ex-Baltic sale was mentioned in the market as done at $300/mt CFR for HMS I/II 80:20 for shipment in the first half of February. The full details of the sale have not been disclosed to the market yet, SteelOrbis understands.

This week, the business activity may slow down a bit in the Turkish scrap market taking into account the number of deals concluded recently, sources expect.
