More ex-Baltic region scrap booked in Turkey

Another ex-Baltic region scrap deal has been recently disclosed in the Turkish market. A steel producer based in Izmir region has booked a scrap lot from Estonia, in which 30,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 was priced at $273.5/mt CFR, while 5,000 mt of bonus grade were sold at $283.5/mt CFR, SteelOrbis has learned. The batch will be shipped in March.

The reported level for HMS I/II 80:20 for the Baltic origin scrap is in line with the previous transaction which was closed at $273/mt CFR. More deals are expected to be closed in the Turkish scrap market shorty, while the mood is mainly optimistic for now, SteelOrbis understands.
