On October 3, SteelOrbis reported Chinese import met coke (64-65 percent CSR) offers to India slightly down at $387-390/mt CFR India with prices estimated at $370-374/mt in FOB terms. A source noted that the environmental policies in China that may constrict Q4 export supply were supporting import prices.
Market sources inform SteelOrbis that prices for import met coke (64-65 percent CSR) are presently at $407-409/mt CFR India or approximately $390-392/mt FOB China. Lower grade import met coke (62 percent CSR) is reportedly at $400-401/mt CFR India or approximately $382-383/mtm FOB China. A source said tthat prices have increased as noted in recent Chinese coke market reports due to production restrictions that will bolster both domestic and export met coke prices.
