Met coke offers to India trend mostly stable

On December 5, SteelOrbis reported Chinese import met coke (64-65 percent CSR) offers to India down at $390-391/mt CFR India or approximately $375-376/mt FOB China. Lower grade import met coke (62 percent CSR) was also reportedly down at $382-383/mt CFR India or approximately $366-367/mt FOB China.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that met coke offers to India ticked slightly up early in the week and have remained stable. The standard grade met coke is now reportedly at $392-393/mt CFR India or approximately $377-378/mt FOB China. Lower grade met coke is now reportedly at $384-385/mt CFR India or approximately $368-369/mt FOB China. Met coke import prices only increased $2/mt early in the week and have reportedly remained stable. A source noted that activity continues, but that buyers are limiting quantities due to uncertainty. Overall, though, the source reported an expectation of stable pricing into January 2019.
