Local Turkish scrap prices stable, but dollar-based prices down amid weaker lira

Turkish mills have kept their Turkish lira-based domestic scrap purchase prices stable since Tuesday, October 6. However, due to the significant depreciation of the Turkish lira against the major currencies throughout the current week, the dollar equivalents of prices have decreased by $5-6/mt. As a result, although benchmark DKP grade scrap quotations are still in the range of TRY 2,050-2,360/mt, they have moved down from the $263-301/mt range to $258-297/mt.
