Local Turkish scrap prices increase

Tuesday, 11 August 2020 16:24:02 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Today, August 11, two Turkish mills have increased their domestic scrap purchase prices by TRY 30-35/mt or $4-5/mt, while it is observed that other producers have decided to keep their prices stable. The slight change in the Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate has caused some of the latter’s dollar-based prices to move up by $1/mt. Following today’s price revisions, the benchmark DKP grade scrap prices in Turkey have increased by $5/mt on the upper end to TRY 1,850-2,215/mt ($256-306/mt) as compared to the levels shared by SteelOrbis on Friday, August 7.
